Celebrate Love

July 10, 2017, By: Jimmy Scruggs

“You have turned my mourning into joyful dancing. You have taken away my clothes of mourning and clothed me with joy, that I might sing praises to you and not be silent. O Lord my God, I will give you thanks forever!” Psalm 30:11-12
Why do we call Celebrate Recovery “Celebrate” Recovery? Because we are celebrating the mighty work God is doing in us; transforming pain into purpose, giving hope to the hopeless, turning our sadness into praise. Growing in faith can start from the smallest of seeds and develop into a living and vibrant faith. We start to accept that God loves us right where we are, not because we deserve it, far from it, but because of who God isLove. We celebrate because we have found a way out of our personal hell; a hell that some of us have created by our actions and choices and for some a hell that was created by others. This spiritual transformation doesn’t happen all at once, it is a life long journey. As our faith grows through taking action (living out what God puts in) we learn to trust more. As hope becomes our reality we are propelled forward into a new life where there are endless possibilities in Christ Jesus. But most of all, we are embraced by God’s love for us, which cultivates into a true love for others.  As faith, hope, and love is experienced, a new reality takes hold. We start to live our lives from a place of love instead of fear. Now that’s something to be joyful about. “Now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.” 1 Corinthians 13:13 Love God, love people, Jesus first! Dana Cramer // Celebrate Recovery at Crossroads
