Snowshoeing Cross-Country for Beginners
A 2-2.5 mile flat loop in Moraine Meadows in RMNP, with no elevation gain. Info on where to purchase or rent snowshoes, a list of basic gear to wear, & things to carry in your backpack that are essential to survival in the back country will be emailed to registrants. Trail Running
This trail running group is open to all ages & abilities. Runners, walkers & hikers are welcome. This is winter trail running in Colorado, so we will be running in whatever weather the day has for us—wind, snow, ice or mud! The runs are approx 6 miles. Serving Venture #1: World Vision Distribution Center, Denver
Team members will be given a tour, then help count, sort & package products, for both domestic & International use, to help children & families affected by poverty or disaster. Volunteers will also help with warehouse activities such as trash removal, pallets, lifting & building boxes. Ages 11+ (ages 11-15 must be accompanied by a parent). Must wear closed-toe shoes. Serving Venture #2: Larimer County Food Bank, Fort Collins
Team members will be given a tour, then help count, sort & package food products that will be distributed to families in need in Larimer County. All ages (children must be accompanied by parent). Must wear closed-toe shoes. The Food Bank distributed more than 7.8 million pounds of food in 2010. The Food Bank is the only Feeding America clearinghouse for donated food in Larimer County. Team members will be given an overview of facility, then help with meal preparations, meal service, dishes & clean up afterward. All ages (children must be accompanied by parent). The Kitchen provides prepared meals 7 days per week to those in need of a hot, nutritious meal. Team members will be given a tour & overview of the facility, then help sort & organize clothing, & clean the clothing storage area. All ages (children must be accompanied by parent). House of Neighborly Service provides resources to low-income individuals & families in Southern Larimer County by compassionately addressing & responding to the effects of poverty, while helping prevent further crisis & empowering those who are served to become more self-sustaining.
