As most of us know, the country of Haiti was struck by a devastating earthquake on January 10, 2010. The magnitude 7.0 quake — the most powerful to hit Haiti in a century — struck shortly before 5 p.m. and was centered about 10 miles (15 kilometers) southwest of Port-au-Prince.

News and Updates about Haiti Relief
For those who are able, consider donating to orgs doing work in Haiti. There are several relief organizations that already have a strong presence in Haiti, and are currently doing effective work in the aftermath of the tragedy. Crossroads has partnerships with the following organizations:
- Covenant World Relief. This is a relief agency of the Evangelical Covenant Denomination. Crossroads is a member church of the ECC. Covenant World Relief is working directly with World Relief International– a top-notch relief agency with a ground presence in Haiti. Crossroads member, Ray Tollison, serves on the staff of World Relief International.
- World Vision is a Christian organization with a proven reputation for their compassionate and effective work all over the world.
Please consider making a donation to either World Relief or World Vision today.

Please pray for the people of Haiti and for God to look over them who are suffering from this devastating earthquake. Can Crossroads start a relief fund for food, clothing and money to send over to Haiti? Perhaps we could start gathering supplies and money at this weekend and next weekends services because the Haitian people are going to need support for months to come.
I know it is a huge challenge setting up the logists for getting supplies and money to them but perhaps there is someone in our church who knows of a military or civilian relief organization that is coordinating delivery of goods from the US to Haiti.
God Bless Everyone,
Tom Wilhelm and family
I just saw World Vision on NBC nightly news. NBC was featuring World Vision as a trustworthy organization, worthy of our donations. This is a good organization for Crossroads to partner with. Let’s do our part, eh? World Vision is a specialist and top notch Christian relief organization.
I am a Registered Pediatric Nurse, and am interested in going to Haiti. Do you know of a Christian group that is experienced in situations like this?
Vicki,
I was on a national phone call with Richard Stearns (Pres. of World Vision) at noon today. He said that medical professionals are needed in Haiti–especially those who can deploy soon. The organization to contact is Medical Teams International (medicalteams.org). You can check them out. Let us know if you go.
