This October 2010 trip is for adults, 16 and older, who have a passion to relieve the HIV/AIDS pandemic in South Africa—a country hit unusually hard with incidences of HIV/AIDS and the related hardships.

The cost is $3,000-$3,500, which covers round trip airfare, all in-country transportation, accommodations at The Team House, food and tickets to cultural sites. It does not cover: shopping, food beyond the group meals, touring beyond the group itinerary or passport/visa/immunization costs.

Volunteer activities on this trip include:

• Going door-to-door in the Masiphumelele township, talking with people, praying with them, and inviting them to attend a health clinic event
• Serving as hosts for the health clinic event where free testing for HIV, pregnancy, diabetes, and high blood pressure will be conducted
• Running an after-school program for children in the township
• Conducting equipping for local Celebrate Recovery leaders
• Assisting with the homeless ministry, Living Grace, and working in the soup kitchen
• Learning about the history and culture of South Africa, and why there are more people living with AIDS in South Africa than any other country in the world
