We consider it a privilege and an assignment from God to serve those who have special needs. We are committed to serving and empowering our Special Friends to become vital members of the body of Christ. Our Special Friends ministry partners volunteer side-by-side with your special needs child. As a team, they participate in the child’s appropriate classroom, so that she or he can fully experience the program.
Weekend Services
We provide one-to-one volunteers for special needs children and youth who attend our Sunday services, allowing parents and caregivers to feel free to enjoy the services. We include special needs children and youth with age-appropriate classroom and activities whenever possible. Special Events
Special Friends families are invited to participate in any church special event. Our team will try to accommodate or modify for special needs enrichment and enjoyment.
Respite Nights and Youth Groups
Crossroads understands the added stress on a family who has a special needs child. Respite provides a program for children and siblings, and a well-deserved breather for families. Youth Group is a time of worship, Bible lessons, games and socializing for those ages middle school through young adult with special needs. Life Group for Parents and Caregivers
Parents and caregivers of special needs children and young adults are invited to participate in Embrace Group, a life group that is specifically designed to provide encouragement and support, and to foster friendships among participants. Together, we will grow and discover God’s faithfulness in our lives, and learn to draw on his strength and support.
